KARI LAGLER

Kari completed her tertiary education at the University of Cape Town where she was on the Dean’s merit list and obtained medals for the best tax and statistics student during her undergraduate studies.

Kari completed her post graduate diploma in accounting in 1991, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995 through KPMG, where she served her articles, and completed her Honours in taxation in 1996.

Kari has a wealth of experience in the tax and general corporate sector. She was a tax partner at KPMG before taking up a senior management position in tax advisory within the Old Mutual Group where she was also significantly exposed to the retirement funding and employee benefit industry.

In 2009 Kari determined to leave the corporate sector and open her own consultancy which she has run successfully since.

Kari’s clients extend through a very broad spectrum from private individuals, through privately owned companies, publicly listed companies and even government.

Kari currently serves as a tax assessor in the Tax high Court and as an Executive Director for one of South Africa’s large insurers.

We are most certainly appreciative and very privileged to have access to the depth of experience and knowledge that Kari offers and thus to be able to offer that depth of knowledge and experience to our client base.

Kari’s services include:

  • Tax analysis
  • Advice on solutions to problems in the field of taxation
  • Advice on governance and compliance in respect of tax
  • Assistance in taxation planning (which would tie in with estate planning in general terms)

Kari acts as an independent tax advisor and when her services are required, our firm will appoint her and provide a quotation for her services as a disbursement. Any consultations involving tax advisory can take place directly with Kari, or with a representative of our firm present, if required.
